Communications consultant of Lis Kenneth Regula for Portage County Auditor, Abigail Winternitz
Abigail Winternitz is a senior public relations student at Kent State University with a focus in public health and health advocacy. Last semester she had the opportunity to work on two public health campaigns: one focusing on the lack of awareness and pre-clinical gap in childhood cancer research for the non-profit With Purpose and the other focusing on reducing the stigma behind the use of naloxone (Narcan) to revive opioid misusers through Trumbull County’s Alliance for Substance and Abuse Prevention (ASAP).
Last summer, Abigail did a public relations internship last summer with Mercy Health in Cincinnati. This summer, she is working this summer at Kent State’s College of Public Health to write press releases and run their social media accounts. Abigail is also the Marketing Manager for Fusion Magazine, Kent State’s LGBTQ Magazine and Vice President of Professional Relations for Kent’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
Abigail is consulting with the Regula for Auditor campaign because she believes that political change starts at the local level.
“To really improve our political climate, we have to start locally. These are the people who have the most impact on the political goings-on of our everyday lives,” Abigail says. “I believe that the improvements Lis Kenneth Regula wants to make while in office will not only benefit the lives of all Portage County residents but will inspire local change for the better.”
